One of my major pet peeves is apostrophe abuse. And lately I'm seeing it everywhere. Why is it so hard to understand the basic use of apostrophes?

Plural: ex. CDs -- no apostrophe

Possessive: ex. Keith's CDs -- apostrophe

Possessive using "it": ex. on its own -- no apostrophe

Contraction: ex. it is slow = it's slow -- apostrophe

I've spotted "I've got a few idea's" today, but what really got me was, "Doe's anyone know..."

DOE'S?!

Jesus! Steam was coming out of my ears. It pisses me off just to look at it. DOE'S! I want to hunt that kid down and kill her with my bare hands (hand's).
