just the headlines

Another top of the hour post:

  • I had my foot x-rayed today. Nothing is broken, which I suppose is good news. The bad news is that it still hurts. We think that I damaged some ligaments and/or tendons in there. Considering that my connective tissue is made of old rubber bands and wet Kleenex, I'm not really surprised. That which gave me all three splits (both sides and straddle) also gives me easy injury.

So I'm taking Advil, alternating ice and heat, and lurching around with a limp. And leaving early for wherever I need to be, because I won't be jogging up stairs anytime soon.

  • My mother has been moved off the ICU to a surgical floor. Her recovery seems to be picking up speed, finally. A family friend has been visiting her and keeping us updated.

  • My father is staying in Kuwait and not advancing with the troops, for which I'm grateful. He has a gas mask, access to bomb shelters, and a plan for emergency evacuation if necessary (all airports are closed).

My life has managed to be both stressful and boring as of late. The instant something exciting happens, I'll share it.
