happy birthday to me

thank you!

-----

it's my party and I'll bitch if I want to

How badly has today sucked? Let me itemize the ways:

  • It was damp and gray all day.

  • I couldn't skip school.

  • I had to renew my driver's license: $40 and another really bad photo.

  • I had to go to a mall to renew the license (RMV express offices are faster). I hate malls.

  • When I tried calling my mother from the mall, I was redirected to Verizon Wireless, which had shut off my cell phone access. $130 on my credit card to get it active again.

  • I stopped by Old Navy (yes, I know, child labor) to pick up some cheap t-shirts. I wound up trying on the most normal jeans they had, and I have to say this low-rise bell-bottom trend sucks.

  • The noise and lights of the mall just blew a fuse in my head and I practically ran to the cab stand. I hate malls.

  • I had no interesting mail waiting for me.

  • The restaurant from which I ordered my dinner "ran out of food" and left me dinnerless.

  • My cell phone rang as I was contemplating the dinner problem. It was my grandmother, calling to say happy birthday and did I know that my phone was disconnected?

  • No matter what number I call, I can't reach a human being at Verizon tonight to turn my phone back on. It never occurred to me that they would turn off my phone. I just sent them a whopper of a check, too.

I'm sorry, Verizon, that I have been busy with school and my mother's near-fatal illness and my father's presence in a war zone halfway around the world and I missed a couple of payments. Thank you for rewarding me for all these years of being a reliable customer.

  • I'm supposed to go to the dentist and a long class tomorrow, then catch a plane to DC. I haven't even done my laundry yet.

  • I'm also supposed to be doing some complicated procedure of access codes and meetings with people I don't know to register for school for the next semester. I don't understand it and I don't have time to figure it out.

I have a headache. Whine.
